Great News

Great News for everybody who shoots Nikon. I finally bought a SB-900 and was able to field test it this past weekend and it all works. When you hook up the pocket wizard to it like the SB-800 it all works it took a few minutes to get it to work but it all works. Here are a few shots from what i did.

One small flaw.

So while shooting the other day i found a small but fatal flaw in how to make a newer Nikon (after D1x) sync with a pocket wizard faster than 250th of a sec. If you are using any strobe that is powered with a power box and you plug you wizard in to it the box slows it back down to 250th of a sec. So a way around this is to shoot without the bax and plug the wizard into the light and the light into the wall.

How to make it all work.

So this is for all of you out there who are shooting Nikon. As you all know you can not fire your strobe faster than 250th of a second with a pocket wizard. Well I have. You use a SB-800 and a pocket wizard. You can hook up your wizard to the flash using a PC to Mini headphone with the headphone jack being in the port labeled camera. Once that is hooked up you turn your flash to manual and set the power to its lowest setting. Now in your camera go into the settings menu and go to flash and bracketing. From there set your flash sync speed to the 250 high speed setting. Now attach your flash to your camera and you can now shoot as fast as you want to.
